Medical Properties of Ozone
Ozone has five properties that account for why it works so well not only for macular degeneration but also for most other chronic age-related conditions as well:
1. Ozone is a potent regulator of the immune system. This means that when the immune system is overactive (as in auto-immune disease), ozone will calm it down. Conversely, when the immune system is under active as in cancer, AIDS, and chronic infections, ozone will stimulate it. This unique ability of ozone stems from its action on the membranes of white cells that causes them to produce immune-related messenger molecules called cytokines. Examples of cytokines are gamma interferon, interleukin-2, colony stimulating factor, and TNF-alpha just to name a few.
2. Ozone stimulates increased uptake of oxygen by stimulating the enzyme diphosphoglycerate (DPG). DPG enables the release of oxygen from the hemoglobin molecule so that it can be taken up into the cell. In the absence of an adequate amount of DPG, our cells become starved for oxygen. This is a common problem in diabetics or patients with peripheral vascular disease.
3. Ozone improves circulation. It does this by enhancing the flow characteristics of blood as a liquid. This effect enables more of the oxygen-carrying hemoglobin to reach the capillaries where ultimately the cells will receive more of the oxygen they require. Many patients with chronic inflammatory conditions have impaired circulation.
4. Ozone increases antioxidant protection more than any other therapy including vitamin C. Most people with chronic disease have deficient antioxidant defenses.
5. Ozone is a powerful mitochondrial stimulant. The fundamental underlying cause behind all degenerative disease from diabetes to heart disease to cancer is decreased mitochondrial energy production. Ozone can often correct this problem.

Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation: Biophoton Therapy
Over 100 years ago, Faroese- Danish physician/researcher Niels Finsen found that the ultraviolet light could effectively treat skin disorders. He was awarded the 1903 Nobel Peace prize for Medicine because of his use of UV light against lupus vulgaris which is tuberculosis of the skin. Walter Ude, an MD from Minneapolis, reported a series of 100 cases of Erysipelas (an acute streptococcus bacterial infection) in the 1920’s, claiming a nearly 100% cure rate with UV skin irradiation. Emmett Knott pioneered the irradiation of autologous (from the same body) blood treatment. By 1942, obstetrician Dr. Virgil K. Hancock and Knott had successfully treated 6,520 patients using UBI without any harmful effects. The most prolific American researcher was Dr. George Miley, a clinical professor at Hahnemann Hospital and College of Medicine. In 1942, he reported success with 103 consecutive cases of acute pyogenic infections. Results of recovery were 100% for early infections, 46 out of 47 for moderately advanced and 17 out of 36 of those who were moribund (near death).

HOW DOES THIS WORK
Major Autotherapy Hemotherapy (MAH) is the most common way to administer ozone, and in most cases, the most effective way ozone is administered. The patient sits in a chair and has from 6 - 12 ounces of blood removed into a sterilized IV bag with small amounts of heparin. Ozone is injected into the bottle, and the bottle is gently shaken, allowing the red and white blood cells to take up the ozone. The ozonated blood is then returned to the body. The entire procedure takes about 30-45 minutes. However, you can also add the Ultraviolet therapy to the same infusion. Whereby, the IV goes through a UV tubing through UBI machine called the Champion. It is easy and painless.
First pioneered in the 1930’s, a mixture of O3 and O2 is introduced through the rectum. Typically, between 100-200ml of oxygen and O3 is insufflated slowly into the rectum. Rectal insufflation is considered a safe and simple method of O3 delivery.
