Acupuncture & Other Modalities

Acupuncture has been a system of medicine for over 2500 years.  Needles are about as thin as a human hair, and can easily be bent or tied into a knot. Thus the pain associated with acupuncture is often described as minor discomfort, and most patients report feeling so relaxed that they fall asleep during the treatment.  Acupuncture works by allowing the brain to release powerful analgesic and anti-inflammatory chemicals, rerouting pain signals, and releasing tight muscles that may be causing discomfort.

Complimentary modalities which may be included in 60-120 minute acupuncture treatments are moxa, infrared, estim, cupping, tuina, shiatsu, guasha, and ear seeds. Not included in 30 minute acupuncture tune up.

Herbal supplements may be prescribed based on patient's needs. Herbal formulas mostly come from Blue Poppy Inc or Evergreen Herbs. All Internal Formulas are tested in an independent FDA approved lab to insure freedom from heavy metals, microbial contamination, pesticide residues, other chemicals, pharmaceuticals, sugars, or dyes.  All formulas have been legally imported into the United States under the strict supervision of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
